Back to School Mommy too...

I have issues, I know. This semester I am embarking on 17 units, yes 17! I know I am crazy, that is why I am a psychology student. This semester I am taking Statistics (5 units), Persuasive Speech (3), Native North America(3) (an anthropology course), English(4), a Library course for my English class (1) (thanks Sister Hubble), and a Teaching Assistant (1) (Physical and Cultural Anthropology).

I thought my stats class would be my hardest class, but I was wrong, it is actually my easiest class thanks to Mrs. Smith from the last two semesters of Math...My hardest class will be my English class. The shear amount of work I will have to do in it is exhausting just looking at the list, let alone doing it. We have been in class for one week and I have already written a paper, read several chapters, and have several more chapters to go...

I am taking Statistics from an instructor I have had before. I took behavior modification from Ginger LeBlanc in the Spring of 2007. The class was amazing and I learned so much that I still use today in my everyday life. She is brilliant! She inspires me to fight for the top grade in her class because if I am top in her class I know I can be top in any other instructors class.

I was going to take her Bio-psych class this fall as well but because of circumstances beyond my control I had to take a required class instead. I have tried to avoid taking a speech class for 2 years now. In order to graduate I had to have one so I am taking Persuasive Speech...

I will graduate this spring with a double AA in psychology and anthropology, I am short two classes in Anthropology and because of those same circumstances could not fit either of the classes in my normal schedule. Luckily Professor Krista Moreland is willing to do an Independent Study course for me in Native North America this semester so that I can get these classes in prior to graduation!

Next semester I will need a Science, California History, Art appr. and Aercheology

If you can believe it, another school year has started! This is the last year untill Nicholle is a Senior in High School that all the kids will be in the same school! This is amazing to me. Nicholle started 6th grade, Emma 5th, and Micah 3rd. They are amazing children.

Emma will be tested for gate this month...she is a little nervous but excited for the challenge. She also begins Violin this week. (I'll let you know how that goes)Micah started tackle football about a month ago, and Nicholle is getting ready to go to camp keep for a week in early October. My babies are growing up!

For the Love of Handmade Soap

I have a new addiction! I am in love with handmade soap! I can't seem to get enough of it! I have been secretly buying soaps from etsy to feed my addiction...I love lavender soaps the most. I have bought from several etsy shops, most recently from Dennis Anderson Soaps. His Lavender exfoliating bar is to die for. I purchased his Lavender fields and Jamine and Ginger Bars about a month ago. Between buying from him I bought 2 bars of Summer Rhubarb from a shop called Savor. These soaps are amazing...they smell wonderful, they have awesome lather, and they are handmade! You can't beat that. If you have never tried handmade soap you'll want to give them a try!

FABLEHAVEN!

I am amazed at the talent that Brandon Mull exhibits in his Fabelhaven books. I have read books one and two, and am just beginning book three. My mother ranted and raved about the books since they came out, but being the rebellious daughter that I am, I resisted her recommendations. She persisted and my husband, ironically named Brandon read the first book and was addicted, which of course, meant they were fabulous because he has fabulous taste...

The main characters are two siblings, a brother and a sister, named Kendra and Seth. Kendra is the unasuming hero of book one and Seth the rebellious adventurer (I totally relate to Seth). They start their adventure with a visit to their grandparents where they discover a new world waiting for them...

These books are amazing and if I say any more I might just ruin the story for you!

My Family

I wanted to share a little about my family, I have three great kids, Nicholle, Emma, and Micah. They keep me on my toes with drama, swim team, football, and all their school adventures. My husband Brandon and I have been married for a little over 13 years. We started our family right away and had our last during his final year of medical school. We have lived all over the United States, UT, ILL, PA, AZ, and CA. We have 6 pets, 3 pug dogs (Lucky, Clover, and Shamrock), 2 cats (Irish and Butterscotch), and a bunny (nibbles, but we tease the kids that it's name is nipples).

We love Bakersfield, CA, it has been a great place to settle down. The kids go to a fantastic school, with awesome teachers. I am a full time student at Bakersfield College.
